Here I’m wearing leather corsets. Leather is an excellent material for corsets because it’s robust and stiff. Therefore it’s especially important to have a made-to-measure corset, otherwise you probably won’t be happy with it. Leather, however, does not breathe as well as cotton or satin; therefore it may not be as comfortable to wear in hot weather.

For a broad acceptance of the corset in our time, it’s especially important that ladies can wear usual and everyday clothes with their corsets on. In the following I will present some suggestions how to wear corsets under normal clothes. The series of examples is to be continued.

This corset is my first one from True Grace Corsets (TGC). I wore it for a long time, so some repairs were necessary, as you can see in the pictures. Especially in the waist, where the pressure and pull is the strongest, the material weakens over time, even in very good corsets.

This is my very first corset. It is from the Vollers company in England. It is not custom made. The waist size ordered was 19 inches. But when I laced it up for the first time, it went on easily and the waist size measured over the corset was 21 inches. I was disappointed. However, the make of the corset was nice and sturdy.
